Habitat for Humanity Zambia proudly joins the global community in commemorating International Volunteer Day. This special day is dedicated to honoring the incredible contributions of volunteers who play an essential role in transforming lives and communities across the world. As we observe International Volunteer Day on December 5, 2024, we take a moment to celebrate the remarkable efforts of our volunteers, whose dedication and hard work have been instrumental in advancing our mission.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the artisans, Makululu Advocacy Committee members, Participatory Approach to Safe Shelter Awareness (PASSA) members, Savings Groups Agents, and Global Village Volunteers. Their tireless efforts have significantly impacted the lives of vulnerable families in Zambia, helping to provide decent housing and improve living conditions. These volunteers are the backbone of our organization, and their contributions are celebrated today and every day. Their efforts make a tangible difference, one brick and one voice at a time.
This year’s International Volunteer Day focuses on the vital role volunteers play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As Habitat for Humanity Zambia, we firmly believe that housing supports the attainment of all SDGs in one way or another. Our volunteers not only build homes but also foster sustainable and resilient communities, directly contributing to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. Thanks to their support, we have helped thousands of families gain access to safe, clean water and decent, affordable housing.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our volunteers, past and present, for their unwavering commitment.
