Today, Habitat for Humanity Zambia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kabwe Municipal Council that will leverage on diverse institutional strengths in establishing Garden Nursery meant to strengthen climate resilience in Makululu.
Speaking at the event, Acting Town Clerk, Mr Changwe Nsakanya expressed appreciation to Habitat for Humanity Zambia for their gesture that will go a long way in increasing household income, improving nutrition and alleviating poverty in Makululu community.
Meanwhile, Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Director, Ms Mathabo Makuta stated that the Garden Nursery that is going to be co-managed by the Makululu community and the local authority will promote urban agriculture in the settlement through organic backyard gardening and planting of trees that will not only green the environment but will also supplement the nutritional needs at household level.
