A Major Milestone at Kafulamase Primary School!

Today, we are thrilled to announce the successful handover of a solar-powered water reticulation system and 96 fruits trees to Kafulamase Primary School officiated by the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation Eng. Collins Nzovu. This impactful project, made possible through the unwavering generosity and support of the FNB Foundation, represents a significant step forward in addressing critical needs for clean and safe water within the school and its surrounding community. Over 1,000 pupils and community members will directly benefit from this transformative initiative. 💧

As Habitat for Humanity Zambia, we stand by our mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, but we also understand that true dignity requires much more. Access to clean water is a fundamental necessity that impacts health, education, and community well-being.

This new system is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a solar-powered water pump and a 10,000-litre capacity tank, ensuring a sustainable and reliable water supply. With this infrastructure, lives will be transformed:
1.    Health and Hygiene: Improved access to clean water will reduce the prevalence of waterborne diseases and foster better hygiene practices.
2.    Education: Pupils, particularly young girls, will no longer spend valuable learning time fetching water and can instead focus on their education.
3.    Community Impact: This initiative will empower not only the school but the wider community, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

This project is part of our broader “Promoting Human Security through Safe Housing and WASH Services” initiative, which focuses on reducing poverty, particularly among women, by improving housing, sanitation, and access to clean water.

Other key dignitaries present at the event include His Royal Highness, Chief Dr. Chamuka VI, Kabwe Central Member of Parliament, Hon. Chrizoster Halwindi, His Worship the Mayor of Kabwe, Mr Patrick Chishala, Phiri, Kabwe District Commissioner Lennox Shimwambwa.
