Habitat Zambia National Director Moderates at the 2023 High Level Political Forum

We are pleased to participate in the 2023 High Level Political Forum (HLPF) and have the Habitat for Humanity Zambia National Director Ms Mathabo Makuta moderate the side event titled “Building Resilience to Climate Change in Informal Settlements: Assessing the Impact on Housing”.
The HLPF will be held in New York from Monday, 10 July, to Wednesday, 19 July 2023, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. The theme is “Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels”.
The Government of Zambia through the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, will be presenting the country’s 2nd Voluntary National Review that has features Habitat for Humanity Zambia as a best practice in the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal 11 with their Makululu Vulnerable Group Housing Project in Kabwe District.

This forum is in line with the recently launched Habitat for Humanity International 5-year Global Advocacy Campaign entitled ‘Home Equals‘ that aims to influence policies and systems that improve and promote equitable access to adequate housing for people living in informal settlements.
